The word "Mruda" in Sanskrit, an ancient language of India, means earth or soil,  exactly where my brand gets its strength from. Code Mruda was born out of a passionate love for traditional craftsmanship and the beauty of the earth. The Code Mruda story is my own: the vibrant fabric of my upbringing in Punjab, India, blended with the professional expertise gained through my Master's in Fashion Management at Nottingham Trent University.

I care for the earth at every step, not just in the making. Using natural fabrics, bamboo cotton, hemp, linen, banana fabric, and soya fabric,  as my canvas, I colour each piece with natural dyes like madder, indigo, pomegranate powder, and sappan wood. The result is a palette that's completely organic, giving every product a signature all its own.

My work centres on handmade accessories for daily wear, tote bags, laptop sleeves, scarves, mug rugs, and scrunchies, alongside hand-painted wall hangings and intricately crocheted pieces made for gallery and exhibition display.

At its heart, Code Mruda is about building a community that values the time, skill, and earth that goes into beautiful textiles. Through upcycled materials and workshops teaching natural printing and mending, I'm carrying forward the art of slow fashion.
